MORE THAN JUST THE BASICS AT THE MARKET PLACE

THE Market Place is the first and only business of its kind in Windhoek’s Northern Industrial Area, supplying its customers with fresh products – from the bare necessities to the more luxury items. While fruit and vegetables are amongst the main products available, the Market Place also amongst many other things provides meat products and seafood.

Formerly known as Beira Foods, the Market Place – owned by husband and wife team Eli and Julianna Cornelissen - opened its doors to the public in August 2010. The business has so far proved to be doing well, with customers from all over popping in to buy some fresh produce or other food products. All of this excludes the other daily necessities also stocked by the business situated in Ettienne Rosseau Street.

The business prides itself on being a 100% local buyer of the fruit, veggies and other stock available to customers, although they do from time to time make use of suppliers in South Africa, specifically for their fruit and vegetable shelves. The Market Place has a total staff complement of 15 and currently, the doors are open from 08h00 to 17h00 every day. Also notable is the fact that the Market Place stocks everything needed for catering purposes, which makes it a must-see for caterers. Cheese, hake and other fish fillets, bacon, a variety of chicken cuts and pork ribs are but the some of the products available to those in the catering business.

The cherry on top of the cake at the Market Place is the prices which are very reasonable and competitive.
