WINDHOEK - ELVIS MURARANGANDA
A decision not to allow questions from the floor during a parliamentary budget debate this week
has caused anger and frustration among opposition parliamentarians.
A decision by National Assembly (NA) Deputy Speaker Loide Kasingo to stop three opposition parliamentarians from questioning Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Tjekero Tweya has not been well received.
Kasingo’s refusal to allow interjections from All Peoples’ Party’s (APP) Ignatius Shixwameni, DTA of Namibia’s Katutire Kaura and National Unity Democratic Organisation (Nudo) MP Arnold Tjihuiko was apparently due to time constraints.
Tweya was making his contribution to the Appropriation Bill in the NA and the MPs were apparently eager to question him. Read more about Deputy Speaker irks opposition MPs

Gecko Namibia has vehemently denied allegations that the Ondonga and Uukwambi traditional authorities have sold off the Otjivalunda salt pans to it, insisting that the joint venture between them was merely a right to explore.
Gecko Namibia Managing Director Phillip Ellis yesterday explained that a joint company registered between them and the traditional authorities, called Ondonga-Uukwambi Mining Enterprise (OUME), holds exclusive prospecting licences over the two salt pans. Namibia is indeed the land of the brave where bravery manifests itself in almost all persons and entities. No matter how repugnant, intolerable, justifiable and legal some practices and policies are, it is commonplace to find brave individuals and entities practicing and or flouting these with impunity.
On the other hand, you find policy implementers bravely shouting from the rooftops at glaring transgressions by individuals and entities who bravely defy the law. This has become an annual occurrence. Iranians say “Bravery without foresight is like a blind horse”. Read more about Majority begging minorities for dear life

I am normally a happy go lucky type of guy, very few things can upset me; except maybe someone devouring my pack of jelly babies. If you dare touch my jelly babies then I’m going incredible hulk on you. I’m fuming inside like most soccer fans, I looked at the mirror last weekend and I could see smoke coming from my ears.
A lot of people I talked to were furious like a long suffering girlfriend who just caught her boyfriend cheating, their source of frustration. Another limp display from the Brave Warriors. Read more about Of unpatriotic sport supporters

Am I the only one that thinks modern young parents have their wires crossed when raising the little fruits of their loins, or are today’s youngsters seriously messed up? Whatever happened to spanking? Or is that what our learned colleagues describe as corporal punishment?
These days I run for cover when I see a six-year-old boy running towards me with open arms! The last time I was brave enough to face some spoilt brat, my white pair of jeans were left pitch black from the youngster’s hands. Read more about Spare thee not the rod
