A man that needs no introduction, Ras Sheehama without doubt THE pioneer of the music industry in Namibia as he was the first artist to release an album on CD, titled Travelling, back in 1996. This year he released his ninth album titled Still Standing. The album kicks off with The Prayer capturing you with smooth soothing reggae sounds while the message is one of praising and encouraging positive living. Author Frederick B. Philander’s latest book, Prejudice, a collection of African suspense stories, has just been published and is currently available as a contribution towards Namibian literature.
Playwright, novelist, short story and film script writer Philander has four other books to his credit: King of the Dump and other plays, The Namibian Stage Chronicles, The Railway Man and The Namibian Theatre Movement.
The 242 page book features three Namibian and three selected South African suspense stories aimed at the tertiary education system locally and in South Africa. The book will be formally launched on Friday September 21 and sells for N$300 per copy.
