Bill Keogh, president of disaster estimator Eqecat, confirmed the company’s estimates of U$5 billion (N$43,5 billion) to U$10 billion (N$87 billion) in insured losses and U$10 billion to $20 billion (N$174 billion) in total losses from Hurricane Sandy, which came ashore in New Jersey late on Monday and swept northward, knocking out power for more than eight million customers and shutting down four major cities.
